Do the following statements describe you in any way?

  • I'm spiritual but not religious.

  • The church is too closed minded, too judgmental, too hypocritical, too conservative.

  • The church has become irrelevant to my life and the world of today.

  • I don't feel welcome because of my race, sexual orientation, or religious background.

  • I've been hurt by the church in the past.

  • I think Jesus is great.  I love Jesus. But the church of today looks nothing like what Jesus probably had in mind.

  • The church feels too closed minded for me to freely express my "unorthodox" beliefs.

  • The churches I've been a part of are just so boring. I want to be a part of something that's bigger than I am.

  • I want to be a part of a community that wants to actively make a difference in the world.

We seek to be a community of people who work together to strive to paint a bigger picture of God than what has been painted by so many in the past. We believe God loves everyone unconditionally. Our desire is to grow in OUR ability to do that as well.

  1. We are a community who believes that the God of creation is also the God of re-creation. This means that we strive to join with God in these acts of recreation, and be a movement working toward the recreation of our planet, our communities, our relationships, and ourselves. Bottom means we must get our hands dirty and work together to bring to life Jesus' prayer, "Your kingdom come, your will be done, On Earth, as it is in Heaven." In other words, we try to live our everyday lives as if our future hope of heaven were already a present reality. What does that look like? It looks like love. Like when someone enters into the broken places of the world and strives to bring healing and wholeness. And here's the best part: we strive to do this without condemning, without judging, and without trying to gain anything for ourselves other than the experience of loving those around us.

  2. We seek to gather together in a way that helps us feel connected to God, that challenges us intellectually, and in a way that motivates and inspires.

  3. We value inlusivity and equality.  Because of this, we strive to offer radical hospitality and acceptance to everyone, regardless of their sex, race, age, religion, or orientation.  Love wins.

  4. We seek to be a community who focuses on spirituality. We try to examine ancient scriptures in ways that are creative and healthy, and embrace dialogue that focuses on looking closely and learning from "spiritual but not religious" ideas.  Jesus and other faith teachers had much to say about such things as the ego, karma, oneness, consciousness, energy, intention, the law of attraction, and the universe.

  5. We seek to be a community who intentionally works with communities of other faiths to be in mission together in the name of a loving God. It is our desire to bridge the gaps and strengthen levels of tolerance and respect with our brothers and sisters of other faith traditions.
